This jet airliner was developed in the 1960s in West-Germany by former
Junkers engineers returning from the Soviet Union. Like the wartime
Junkers Ju 287 jet bomber, the HFB 320 had swept forward wings. This
unconventional arrangement prevented an economic success, only 47
aircraft were built.
